1970s Matti J. Hyvarinen "Kierre" Ring

A lovely ring by Finnish designer Matti J. Hvyarinen. With its sculptural form and dramatic oxidization technique, the piece recalls the tumultuous Nordic landscape which inspires Hyvarinen's work. The ring has an almost gothic design influence. 

Hyvarinen has remained important figure in Finnish jewelry design since establishing his workshop Sirokoru in 1958 at the age of 21. He has been the recipient of numerous international awards and has participated in exhibitions worldwide.
