1970s Large Sterling Silver Tapio Wirkkala "Hopeakuu" Pendant - Sold

An exceptional piece by celebrated Finnish designer Tapio Wirkkala produced by Nils Westerback Oy. Inspired by late-1960s space travel and op art, Wirkkala designed this beautiful pendant titled "Hopeakuu" or "Silver Moon". The rings of the pendant are all free moving, creating a stunning mobile effect. This is the largest, rarest version of the design. The piece is both lovely to wear and a sound investment; jewelry designed by Wirkkala was produced in limited amounts and prices are trending upward.

Please note that chain is not original to the piece. It is a sterling silver chain which is of appropriate quality and length for the pendant.
