Sigurd Persson "Lamell" Pendant - Sold

A lovely necklace designed by Sigurd Persson and produced one of Sweden's most progessive jewelry smiths, Ateljé Stigbert. Clean and elegant, the piece also has a subtle asymmetry. The way in which the dishes reflect light when the pendant is worn is truly striking. The geometric motif and its modular quality display the style for which Sigurd Persson was celebrated.

Before establishing his own studio, Persson was head designer at Ateljé Stigbert from 1946 to the mid 1950s. As part of an earlier generation exploring these new forms, Persson became an important figure in its development, writing many articles about the new movement and in support of upcoming designers.
