Pekka Piekainen "Akaatti" Ring - Sold

A stunning ring produced by renown Finnish designer Pekka Piekainen. The ring has a beautifully sculptural design which is punctuated by a deep blue agate stone. Its amazing craftsmanship and carefully considered construction create an overall sense of refinement.

About Pekka Piekainen (from Ginger Moro's "Designer European Jewelry"):

Piekainen designed simple, straightforward lines for Kaunis Koru in the late 60's that were unusual for the time. Moving to Turku for Auran Kultaseppa, the second oldest silver factory in Finland, he ventured into silver holloware, and rings and brooches using odd cuts of amethysts in high relief silver settings. His commissions for gifts of State and industrial concerns make him the leading silver designer in Finland today.
