Aarikka "Muna" Necklace - Sold

A fantastic pendant designed by Kaija Aarikka. Founder of one of Finland's most celebrated design firms, the pendant demonstrates Aarikka's aesthetic which is very graphic and often plays with spheres and rounded shapes. It is a lovely example of her early work in silver which is very difficult to come across.

The company Aarikka was founded in 1954 by Kajia Aarikka and her husband Erkki Ruokonen. Formally trained in textile design, Aarikka made her first forays into jewelry design in the 1950s when she created her first pieces using birch spheres and silver-wire which are still popular today.  Aarikka has since become a globally recognized brand, producing a wide range of design objects and jewelry.
