1960s Liisa Vitali 14k Gold "Ladybird" Ring
A lovely ring by one of Finland's most well known mid-century designers, Liisa Vitali. From her iconic "Leppäkertu" series from 1966, this design was known as "ladybird". This simple yet sophisticated design features a large, perforated gold 14k sphere which sits elegantly upon its band.
Inside the sphere, a burnished metal ball loosely jangles giving the piece a playful kinetic quality. The ball was originally attached inside the sphere by a small chain. Unfortunately, the chain no longer exists and the piece has only the loose ball inside. Otherwise in excellent condition.
