What is the condition of the pieces?

All items are assessed through a generally accepted grading system for vintage objects, ranging from "Very Good" to "Mint" (see chart below). The pieces are left with full patina, with cleaning left up to the discretion of the purchaser.  Pieces that may appear "dirty" can still be listed as "excellent" condition, because they are easily cleaned. Most pieces will have some signs of wear unless otherwise indicated. 

We endeavor to provide customers with complete information, though condition reports are subjective by nature. For a detailed condition report of a particular piece, please send an enquiry via our Contact page.  


Mint
– New, in the same condition as when it left the store. Very few vintage and antique items can claim this.

Near Mint – No problems, as close to “new” as possible for age. 

Excellent – Shows normal wear expected for age, but nothing easily visible.

Very Good – Shows normal wear expected for age with some minor problems visible, but problems will not detract.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa, American Express, Mastercard, Discover and Paypal. 


What currency do you use?


All prices are in US dollars. 


How do I place an order?

Visiting a product page, you will see the item's "Add to Cart" button. Clicking this will add this item to your "Cart" which is accessible in the upper right hand of the site at all times. When you're ready to check out, clicking this cart icon will take you to the "Cart Overview" page. From here click, "Checkout".

At this point, you will be directed to a secure server to enter your billing and shipping information. Upon entering your information, your total will be updated with all applicable taxes if within Canada.


Continuing on the next page, you will select your method of shipping. Shipping costs will now be added to your total.  


Next, clicking the "Complete my order" button will take you to Paypal to enter your credit card information. Paypal is possibly the most secure payment gateway on the internet, so rest assured. On the Paypal page, you are given the option to use a Paypal account or clicking the "Don't Have a Paypal Account?" link below this to check out as a guest using just your credit card information. After you have entered your information click "Review and Continue" to check your order before the final submit. 

Upon completion, you will receive an order confirmation from Hopea with the details of your purchase. When your order has shipped, we will also give you a heads up!

Do you accept returns?

Yes, we do accept returns up to 30 days after purchase. Buyer will pay return shipping with tracking number. Hopea is not responsible for lost items sent for return without a tracking number. We regret that original shipping costs cannot be refunded. Please contact Hopea with any problems before returning the piece. 


We are more than happy to reply with haste to any inquiries you may have about the piece before your purchase.

I did not receive an email confirmation after I submitted my order. Did my order go through?


If you did not receive an email confirmation, please get in touch (via info@hopea20.com), as there may have been a hitch in the checkout process. Don't forget to check your junk email folder first!


Should I be worried about giving out my credit card number and personal information?


We employ industry standards in online security. All information is transmitted through secure connections and is SSL certified. For more information, visit our Privacy page. In addition to our online security measures, Hopea reserves the right to refuse any transaction we suspect to be made fraudulently.

How do I order items with a cashier's check or money orders?


We can accept payment in the form of a cashier’s check or money order. We do not accept personal checks. All funds must be in Canadian Dollars so this option is only for Canadian residents. Please contact us prior to sending funds in these forms so we can confirm the amount that is owing in order to expedite your order.

What is the order process time?


Please allow up to three business days for your order to be processed and shipped. You will receive an email notification when your order has been shipped.
